It follows the controversy over Torino on Nürburgring

This year we met four decades of Mission Argentina, the epic three-380W Torino in August 1969 participated in the 84 Hours of Nürburgring. One team led by Juan Manuel Fangio and Oreste Berta won a "moral victory" when one of the coupé (the number 3) turned more laps than any other competitor, but was penalized and ranked in fourth place. Argentina Mission was received upon his return with all the honors due to "the triumph of Nürburgring. The cars, however, soon fell into oblivion. Their traces, and most of its original documentation is lost with time.

Fangio Museum claims to have in his possession the successful "Number 3" which was restored and is exhibited to the public at Balcarce. The "Number 2", the first to leave the competition, vanished completely. Some say that Oreste Berta Cordova in custody, but no evidence of this. Ride a replica of "Number 2", but is merely a copy of poor quality commissioned by the former ruler of Renault Argentina, Manuel Antelo, who ordered to build another car to destroy historic: the first produced in Torino 380W Cordova.

The "Number 1", also known as "the Bananito" by an accident which bent chassis during training at Nürburgring is now the subject of a dispute between two collectors who say they have the same car. The first of them is Luis Spadafora, who for a decade now exhibited in the Museum of the Automobile Torino that one says it was recognized as the "Number 1" by Luis Rubén Di Palma, one of the pilots managed to Nürburgring with Oscar "Cache" and Carmelo Galbato Fangio.

Spadafora has no more documents to support the originality of the car, but last week showed the public as if it were true Emaqh in the exhibition which was held in La Rural (photo above).

Another collector who claims to possess the true "Number 1" is Daniel Van Lierde (photo below), who keeps his copy in a painful condition. Says no plans to restore it to preserve its originality. The existence of this car was revealed by Argentina Auto Blog three years ago, when he appeared in a desarmadero Moreno. Van Lierde was bought by an amount close to 50 thousand dollars. And that says Oreste Berta stated before a notary public that the car is original.

To respond to the new advanced Spadafora was exhibiting his Torino La Rural, Van Lierde confirmed that this weekend will take on Torino autodrome to Buenos Aires, where Argentina Auto Sport Association will pay tribute to 40 years of the Mission Argentina at Nürburgring. There also will be shown the "Number 3" Fangio Museum and a replica of "Number 2".
